The challenge

The New Futures Network (NFN), part of HMPPS, brokers relationships between prisons and employers to secure jobs for serving prisoners, those on temporary licence and ex-offenders. The team was struggling to coordinate engagement: multiple staff sometimes spoke to the same employer while others received no contact at all. Activity was scattered across disparate systems, making it impossible to demonstrate programme success or meet the Ministry of Justice's reporting requirements.

Our solution

RocketCX partnered with the NFN team to map their working practices and gather requirements for managing engagement with employers and prisons. Using the core CRM capabilities of Sales Cloud, we built a powerful Employer Engagement Management system that captures every potential employer, the types of roles they can offer and the regions where jobs are available. Brokers access the system on Apple iPads to log engagement activities in the field, and new opportunities are broadcast instantly to the relevant team members so jobs can be matched to suitable personnel inside prisons.

The outcome

A comprehensive suite of dashboards now surfaces real-time programme performance to stakeholders, enabling HMPPS to accurately report success to the Ministry of Justice. Over 400 businesses and government departments now provide employment opportunities, and more than 11,000 prisoners have been found employment through the programme.
